HardWay is an anagram of my surname.  I first started repairing and customizing my own amps in 1969.  I didn’t have the money to go to a proper repair shop, so I had to learn how to repair my amps myself.  I have been working with and on guitars and classic amplifiers ever since.

When I retired a number of years ago, I started HardWay Vintage Electronics to help friends who were having tube amp problems, or they wanted custom wiring of their guitars.

I only do this because I really love the old Fender and Marshall amps (and others), and I continue to learn the peculiarities of classic tube amp design.

As a guitar player, I have a pretty good understanding of the instrument and its tone, and how the electronics (internal wiring) can have a big effect on the tone of your guitar.
